GAP WEBSITE BUILD
Web design, coding, UX/UI, Digital Marketing
2022
The biggest task I had at Gap Solutions was building the website. The previous site had a copious amount of faults with it and was particularly in need of modernisation. Prior to this, I had built my last website for my design/illustration work (as I have with the one you’re on now) and have had experience helping with layout designs and visualisations, so I was confident that I could build a great website but also knew it would be a huge and difficult task. As I am typing this, the website now ranks very highly in some very competitive keyword searches, such as; number 1 for ‘Fitted wardrobes Brighton’, number 3 for ‘Wardrobe company in Brighton’ and even 14 for ‘Wardrobes’ nationally.

I designed and coded the site so that it would stand out against competitors like Hammonds, Sharps and local, similar companies, all while pleasing my client with what they wanted. This was a large task I completed independently (including the majority of the photography, videography and all of the designs and also all of the copywriting). I even manipulated a lot of the existing photography to make it professionally presentable:

WEB LAYOUTS
For Gap Solutions, product imagery is what sells throughout their marketing and communications. So it was imperative to have a largely image-focused website. I kept the layouts very straightforward, space efficient and compact; which is exactly the style of furniture that the company sells.
